The wrong number scam is when a scammer contacts people “accidentally”. Note that the “accidentally” is in quotations marks. Over seconds or weeks, the scammer will try to build a rapport with a potential victim until the scammer suggests to the potential victim to “invest” money in a fake cryptocurrency trading website.
