The Algerian government appears to be on a total ban on Bitcoin and other digital currencies in the country. The government allegedly denies the ban on use as well as the possession of the virtual currencies and not only a ban on its acceptance as a means of payment. Based on a report from the local newspaper Maghreb Emergent, the National People’s Congress (NPC) is currently processing the 2018 Finans Bill, which will declare the use and ownership of the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin illegal in the country.
