Stefan He Qin crypto fund manager has pled to securities fraud for cheating investors of over USD 90 million. The Department of Justice in the U.S. said that the fraud occurred from 2017 to 2020 and Qin is the founder of New York-based Virgil Sigma Fund and VQR Multistrategy Fund. Qin owned all of the assets from the USD 90 million cryptocurrency fund by stealing investors’ money. The Prosecutors said that he cheated dozens of investors, including many in the United States. The fraud was revealed last summer when Qin was having meeting redemption requests from investors. Qin faces up to 20 years in prison.
